The purpose of the Houston Community College Department of Resource Development is to support HCC goals and objectives by securing resources to help improve students’ ability to learn and faculty’s ability to teach. Outreach to members of the community and to business and industry for economic development is another departmental focus. The majority of the funds for internal college activities focus upon services that include scholarships, student recruitment and retention, curriculum development, faculty development, laboratory infrastructure and instrumentation while outreach services include basic education, small business development and training for business and industry workforce. Many of the sub activities are components of comprehensive grants. This report is a compilation of grants and contracts generated throughout HCC by all departments, programs and individual faculty and staff.
The report is designed to provide a comprehensive description of three basic figures:
- $12,771,842, the value of new grants and contracts awarded in FY 05-06.
- $22,594,743, the annual value of grants and contracts active in FY 05-06.
- $31,961,743, the life time value of all grants and contracts active in FY 05-06.
The report also includes:
- Breakdown of funds by the three institutional goals: Learning and Student Support, Community Building, and Organizational Stewardship.
- Categorization of funds into Academic, Adult Education, Institutional Development, Outreach, and Workforce Programs.
- Categorization of funds into Faculty Support, Institutional Support, and Student Support.
- A list of federal, state, and local agencies and programs providing funding support.
- A descriptive summary of each grant in operation during FY 05-06.
- A list of grants pending funding consideration at the end of FY 05-06.
- A list of grants and contracts in under development at the end of FY 05-06.
